Blue Diamond MegaGen Implants

This lecture provides a practical guide to the digital restorative workflow for the MegaGen BlueDiamond Implant System. Focusing on abutment selection, digital scanning, and restorative decision-making, Dr. Danny Domingue shares clinical insights and common challenges encountered in daily implant practice. Through practical cases, the lecture demonstrates how proper component selection, scanning accuracy, and laboratory communication can contribute to predictable restorative outcomes.

Course Description Course Overview & Learning Objectives
Course Overview

The lecture covers the key restorative components of the BlueDiamond Implant System, including NC and RC connections, scan bodies, custom abutments, Ti-bases, and zirconia abutments. Participants will review digital scanning protocols, scan body seating, posterior and anterior implant restorations, and the selection between screw-retained and cement-retained approaches. The course also introduces the AXA abutment system for managing challenging implant angulations and discusses common restorative complications and practical methods to prevent them.

Learning Objectives

 - Understand the restorative workflow and component options of the BlueDiamond Implant System.

 - Differentiate between NC and RC connections, scan bodies, and restorative components.

 - Apply proper digital scanning protocols and verify accurate scan body seating.

 - Select appropriate restorative options for posterior and anterior implant cases.

 - Compare the clinical use of titanium abutments, zirconia abutments, and Ti-bases.

 - Understand when screw-retained or cement-retained restorations may be appropriate.

 - Apply the AXA abutment system to manage challenging implant angulations and restorative access.

 - Recognize and prevent common scanning, component-selection, and restorative complications.
